Explosion Box with Sweet Peony

Hello Lovely people there....

For today i have a cute explosion box card with a gorgeous cake in the center beautifully adorned with sweet peony collection from Heartfelt Creations.!!!!! This is mine second creation that i created for the finals of their DT call .

 Instructions
Take white cardstock 12 x 12, score at 4 inch and 8 inch both vertically and horizontally. Cut and remove the corner squares so that the final shape resembles a ‘plus’ sign .Fold on all the score lines to make the base of the explosion box.
For creating pockets take two 4 ½ x 4 ½ white cardstock, cut diagonally creating a triangle , score at ½ inch both vertically and horizontally , apply double sided tape on ½ inch scored area. Overlap two triangles from the centre and attach on to the two opposite flaps of explosion box base for creating pockets.
 Make the lid with 6- ¼ x 6- ¼ inch white cardstock by scoring at 1 inch from all the four sides. For the stand of explosion box take one piece of 5 x 5 and four pieces of 5 x 1 chipboard, attach 1 inch piece on all the four sides of 5 x 5 chipboard creating a box and cover with cardstock.
Mat the base, stand and lid of explosion box first with Green Cardstock and then with Pattern paper from Sweet Peony Collection. (Optional distress the edges of the green cardstock and pattern paper).
For the cake in the center of explosion box create three boxes with white cardstock and stack them on top of each other. 
1)      5 x 5, score at 1 , 4 , 5 on both the sides (3 x 3 inch box )
2)      4 x 4,score at 1 , 3, 4, on both the sides (2 x 2 inch box)
3)      3 x 3, score at 1, 2, and 3 on both the sides (1 x 1 inch box) fold on the score lines and create boxes.
 Cut tags and sentiments form the paper collection, mat with green cardstock and insert tags inside the pockets. Adore outside of the pockets with sentiment cutouts, further cut out 3 x 3 pattern paper from the collection mats with green cardstock and paste on top of lip with 3d foam tape. 

 For flowers stamp with Large and Small Sweet peony stamp sets using Archival ink cobalt and cut them using coordinating dies. Color the flower center with Archival ink cobalt; make sure to color the back of the petals also. For shaping the flowers use Emma Lou’s Video.
 Leaves – Stamp bunch of leaves from Classic Rose Stamp and Sweet Peony stamp sets with Archival ink library green, cut the images with coordinating dies.  Color them with Archival ink – Olive, library green and Color box ink - Lime pastel.
 Assemble the flowers and leaves as shown. Paste metal embellishments with clear dry glue. Optional - on top of cardstock cake paste heart shaped MDF cutout and apply glitter on top of pollens.

Live Laugh love with sweet peony

 Instructions

The finished project measures 14 x 14 inch.
Take 13 x13 mount board wraps around few twines and paste above 14 x 14 mount board with heavy body gel, apply dry tape randomly here and there on the 1 inch visible area of 14 x 14 mount board with clear dry glue.

Next layer the 12 x 12 canvas on top of 13 x 13 mount board. Apply a coat of white gesso on all the layers and leave it to dry. Color with sprays in the shade of blue and teal. Also apply rust paste here and there randomly.
 Choose the pattern paper from the collection and cut it to size 11 x 11, distress the edges and paste on the canvas with clear dry glue. Tone down the color of the pattern paper by applying a light wash of white gesso. Fussy cut out the fence, bird house and bird images from the pattern paper. Arrange them the lower side of the canvas as shown with 3D foam tape.

Also fussy cut out the window image from the pattern paper and arrange the MDF window cut out on top of it, for coloring the MDF window cut out use acrylic color.
 For bricks cut few strips of 12 x 1 inch chipboard, apply sand paste on top of it and once dried properly, further cut them into smaller pieces. Color them using rust paste and acrylic colors. Arrange them on the upper right side of the canvas, so that it resembles a wall with heavy body gel and position the window MDF Cutout on top of it with 3D foam tape.

 For flowers- stamp with Large and Small Sweet peony stamp sets with Archival ink plum and cut them using coordinating dies. Color the flowers with Color box ink – rose coral, harvest, berrylicious and dark peony.

For filler flowers use smallest size petals and color few of them with Color box ink – harvest and few with Color box ink – coral rose and dark peony, for rest use archival ink blue violet and cobalt. Make sure to color the back of the petals also. For shaping the flowers use Emma Lou’s Video.


 Leaves – Stamp bunch of leaves from Classic Rose Stamp and Sweet Peony stamp sets with Archival ink library green, cut the images with coordinating dies.  Color them with Archival ink – Olive, library green and Color box ink - Lime pastel.

Color the MDF sentiment with brown acrylic color and cover with glossy accent. Apply glitter on the flowers and fence with clear glue and once dried properly, assemble all the elements as shown.

Hoop, Glitter, Pencil colors, corrugated sheet , yellow pollens , Green moss , Distress ink Walnut Stain , Vintage Photo ,Archival ink – Saffron , Vibrant Fuchsia , Sepia ,Clear glue , Chipboard, Green Cardstock , Brown Cardstock. 
 Instructions
Choose pattern paper from the collection and cut it to the size of hoop, for more strength backs it with chipboard of same size. Cut a circle out of corrugated sheet and color with Distress ink Walnut Stain and Vintage Photo. Stamp the cage and owl images from the HFC Sugar Hallow Bungalow Cling Stamp with Archival Ink Sepia, die cut with coordinating die and color with pencil colors. Cut out quotes from the pattern paper collection and mat them with coordinating cardstock.
Color flowers with Archival ink Vibrant Fuchsia and Color Box Fluid Chalk Ink pad Berrylicious , for leaves use Archival ink Library Green ,Olive and Distress ink Peeled Paint , Pine Needles. For Shaping the flowers watch Emma Lou’s Video. Apply Crystal Clear Frosting Glitter on the edges of flowers with clear glue and heat set. Once all the elements are ready assemble the project as shown. Use glitter on the quotes and rub randomly on the hoop.
